Merick Belt Scales
Merick invented the world's first conveyor belt scale in 1908 and today offers the industry's only modular design for continuously weighing materials on a belt conveyor. A wide range of sizes is available for betl widths up to 72' (1,830 mm) and feedrates up to 6,000 tons/hr (5,500 metric tons/hr).
The Merrick modular belt scale is made-up of single idler weigh modules. The advantage of this design over the older bridge designs is ease of installation and the ability to increase scale accuracy by adding additional weigh modules in series. With bridge style scales, a requirement for increased accuracy mandates scale replacement.
A maintenance free parallelogram loading fram eliminates all bearings, pivots, and friction points. Adjustable suspension bushings, adjustable idler arm troughing angles, and roller alignment trimming screws permit quick, accurate weigh platform alignment without the need for shims or special tools.
The modular design Model 475 is available for belt widths of 18" to 72" (460 to 1,830 mm). The Model 475 fully complies with the certification requirements for legal metrology in accordance with NIST Handbook 44 and the National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP).
A full line of accessories includes test chains and reels, static test weights, remote totalizers and rate meters, recorders, printers and zener barriers for hazardous environment installations.
