Merrick Loss-In-Weight Feeders
Merrick manufactures two styles of GRAVIMERIK loss-in-weight feeders, enclosed and open construction, to suit a wide range of applications with feedrates as low as 1.0 lb/hr (0.5 kg/hr).
Enclosed Series 500 meets the most stringent application and accuracy requirements imposed by the process industries. For very low feedrates, Model 500-C uses a unique counterbalanced suspension to insure maximum weighing sensitivity and accuracy for hopper capacities as low as 0.37 ft (0.01m). For higher feedrates up to 10,0000 lb/hr (4,550 kg/hr) MOdel 500-P is available for hopper capacities up to 25 ft (0.7m).
For less critical applications, Series 520 provies open design loss-in-weight feeders at substantial savings. Merrick has created cost effective loss-in-weight feeding by designing a system that utilizes a Merrick VOLUMERIK screw feeder with a platform scale and micro-computer controller.
For applications with free flowing, abrasive, or fibrous materials requiring minimum through the feeder degradation, Merrick offers the Series 530 vibratory loss-in-weight feeders.
Kts are also available to easily convert practically any brand of existing volumetric feeder to the higher accuracy and control monitoring of loss-in-weight. The Model 510 kit can be installed on site with minimum down time.
All Merrick loss-in-weight systems utilize a Merrick patented algorithm with Advanced Digital Signal Processing. This unique system provides excellent vibration filtering while eliminating the need to switch to volumetric feed during periods of process disturbance. Merrick loss-in-weight feeders are available for both dry and liquid feed stocks.
