Why would I pay someone to shop for me?

That's a very good question, and the answer is easy... Time is money!

For example, you want to buy a used laptop on EBay.  Go to EBay and start your search:

As you can see, even with a detailed search, you are still faced with a daunting task.  All laptops may be created equal, but they don't end up that way. 

All of these are valid questions, and they take time to answer.  Answering them quickly is a skill I have mastered.  Let me find your needle in the haystack, or more importantly let me make sure you avoid the hazards and pitfalls of a first time buyer.
